Abstract
Na naboj koji se kreće u elektromagnetskom polju djeluje Lorentzova sila. Takvo gibanje je u većini slučajeva nemoguće analitički riješiti te ga moramo izračunati numerički. Za rješavanje problema koristiti ćemo dvije najpopularnije numeričke metode, Euler-ovu i Runge-Kutta metodu te ćemo ih usporediti da vidimo koja je efikasnija te u kojem slučaju je bolje koristiti jednu ili drugu metodu. Određivanje optimalne metode za specifične uvjete nam olakšava izradu simulacije te štedi vrijeme i resurse koji su nam često ograničeni. Svi podaci dobiveni su iz simulacija napisanih u programskom jeziku Python. Za usporedbu preciznosti metoda koristili smo slučajeve kada poznajemo analitičko rješenje kako bi lakše i preciznije mogli usporediti naše metode. U konačnici ćemo uočiti da je Runge-Kutta bolja metoda neovisno o uvjetima i resursima koje imamo na raspolaganju.
Abstract (english)
Lorentz force acts on a charged particle moving inside an electromagnetic field. Such a motion is in most cases impossible to solve analytically and we must calculate it numerically. To solve the problem we will use the two most popular numerical methods, Euler's and Runge-Kutta's method, and we will compare them to see which is more efficient and in which case it is better to use one or the other method. Determining the optimal method for specific conditions makes it easier for us to create a simulation and saves time and resources that are often limited. All data was obtained from simulations written in the Python programming language. To compare the accuracy of the methods, we used cases where we know the analytical solution so that we could more easily and accurately compare out methods. Ultimately we will notice that Runge-Kutta is the better method.
