The information system is responsible for collecting, storing, processing, and delivery of the information related to the organization, so that they are accessible and usable to those who want and need to use them. Considering the fact that the availability of information is main demand of the customers, the use of web solutions (web applications) is increasing as they should allow easy search of the data located in the database. Due to that, the idea arose for this paper, i.e. the development of an information system that will enable monitoring business processes of the bus terminal in Split. This work is divided into two parts - theoretical part and practical work. Through the theoretical part of the work, a series of questions related to the planning of the construction of information system and information system architecture were answered. In this part, different types of databases are presented and relational database architecture is explained. LINQ methodology is also explained as it is used in the practical part of the work for manipulation of the data. The development of the implemented solution (web application) and modules which implemented solution allows, as well as access to the data (using LINQ and SQL), is shown in the practical work. Development tools that are used for building information system are Microsoft Visual Studio 2012 and Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio 2012.
