Abstract
Kristal je naziv za čvrsto tijelo oblika poliedra svojstvenog tvari od koje je građen. Mnoge tvari pri određenim uvjetima mogu prijeći u kristalno stanje. Štoviše, kristalno stanje tipično je za metale. U ovom radu analizirana je kristalna struktura metala bakra i kositra. Također je analizirana struktura čestica bakrovog i kositrovog oksida, koje su bile sintetizirane oksidacijom prahova bakra i kositra u peći pri temperaturi od 900°C. Tip kristalne strukture analiziran je metodom skenirajuće difraktometrije. U svrhu vizualizacije kristalne prirode navedenih tvari korišten je pretražni elektronski mikroskop. Pokazano je da bakar ima kubičnu plošno centriranu, kositar tetragonsku volumno centriranu, bakrov (I) oksid kubičnu volumno centriranu, bakrov (II) oksid monoklinsku baznu centriranu, a kositrov (IV) oksid tetragonsku volumno centriranu Bravaisovu primitivnu kristalnu ćeliju. Također je detektirana faza kositrovog (IV) oksida s kubičnom plošno centriranom te faza kositra s rompskom volumno centriranom kristalnom ćelijom. Navedeni tipovi kristalnih ćelija poklapaju se s teorijskim predviđanjima. Slike dobivene skenirajućim elektronskim mikroskopom također ukazuju na postojanje kristalne strukture.
Abstract (english)
A crystal is a solid body in the form of a polyhedron that is characteristic of the substance of which it is composed. Many substances can change into a crystalline state under certain conditions. The crystalline state is also typical for metals. In this thesis, crystal structure of copper and tin metals was analysed. The structure of copper and tin oxide particles, synthesized by oxidation of copper and tin powders in a furnace at a temperature of 900°C, was also analyzed. The type of the crystal structure was analyzed using scanning diffractometry. A scanning electron microscope was used to visualize the crystalline nature of the mentioned substances. It was found that copper is face-centered cubic, tin is body-centered tetragonal, copper (I) oxide is body-centered cubic, copper (II) oxide is base-centered monoclinic and tin (IV) oxide is body-centered tetragonal in a primitive Bravais lattice cell. A phase of tin (IV) oxide with face-centered cubic crystal cell and a phase of tin with a body-centered orthorhombic crystal cell were also detected. The listed types of crystall cells correspond to the theoretical predictions. Images taken with a scanning electron microscope also indicate the existance of a crystalline structure.
