Abstract
Dizelski motor je stroj kojeg većina ljudi svakodnevno koristi i bez kojeg je moderni život nezamisliv. Motor je vrlo kompleksan toplinski stroj s velikim brojem parametara koji utječu na njegov rad. Prvo smo opisali način rada i spomenute parametre koji najviše utječu na njega, zatim smo pomoću računalnog softvera optimirali neke od tih parametara. Cilj je bio dobiti što veću efikasnost ciklusa te smanjenu potrošnju goriva. Nakon optimizacije parametara za različita opterećenja motora, došli smo do poželjnih rezultata. Zaključili smo kako je relativno jednostavno, promjenom određenih parametara mijenjati performanse motora s obzirom na željene rezultate. Iako su dizelski motori već ˝stara˝ tehnologija, još uvijek ima mjesta za njihov napredak.
Abstract (english)
Diesel engine is a machine that most people use daily and without whom a modern life would be unimaginable. Internal combustion engine is a very complex heat engine, with an enormous number of parameters effecting its performance. We had described the main principles of diesel engine operation and the most important parameters, then we had used a computer software to optimise some of those parameters. The goal was to get highest indicated efficiency of the cycle and the lowest brake specific fuel consumption possible. After the optimisation of the parameters for different engine loads, we had achieved positive results. The conclusion is that it is relatively simple to change output performance of an engine with a change of certain parameters. Even though the diesel engine is an ˝old technology˝, there is a lot more to gain in terms of it's performance.
