Abstract
Bubrezi su smješteni lijevo i desno u retroperitonalnom prostoru, a u odraslih jedinki su dugi oko 11 centimetara. Nefron je strukturna i funkcionalna jedinica bubrega. Svaki bubreg odrasle osobe sadrži oko milijun nefrona. Bubreg sudjeluje u održavanju osmolarnosti, acidobazne ravnoteže i različite koncentracije elektrolita te uklanja toksine i ostale otpadne tvari. Glavni procesi u stvaranju mokraće su glomerularna filtracija, tubularna reapsorpcija te tubularna sekrecija.
Abstract (english)
Kidneys are located on the left and right in the retroperitoneal space, and in adult humans are about 11 centimetres in length. The nephron is the structural and functional unit of the kidney. Each human adult kidney contains around 1 million nephrons. The kidney participates in the control of fluid osmolality, acid-base balance, various electrolyte concentrations and removes toxins. The main processes in formation of urine are glomerular filtration, tubular reabsorption and tubular secretion.
