Recently, technical ceramics are increasingly used in the automotive industry, as well as in many others. The existence of ceramics dates back to the time before the new era and its influence is increasing with time and modernization. Increasing human awareness of the environment and the desire to find new non-traditional materials leads us to the study of the composition, structure and transformation technologies used to improve some unfavorable properties of classical ceramics such as: fragility, unpredictability of behavior under complex load conditions, sensitivity to cracking and resistance to thermal fatigue and heat shock. The name of technical ceramics encompasses different, and partly highly specialized ceramic materials with unique mechanical (high hardness, compressive and flexural strength, creep resistance), electrical (piezoelectricity), thermal (low thermal and electrical conductivity, low thermal expansion) and biochemical properties resistance to corrosion and chemical stability) and combinations of properties. Global growth in the use of technical ceramics is anticipated in all components of the automotive industry.
