Abstract
Fotoelektrični efekt je pojava izbijanja elektrona s površine metala djelovanjem elektromagnetskog polja. Nosioci kvanta energije tog polja su fotoni. Kada metalnu ploču obasjamo svjetlošću, fotoni se sudaraju s elektronima i predaju im svoju energiju. Elektronima se tada poveća energija i ukoliko je energija fotona bila dovoljno velika, elektron će napustiti površinu metala. Energija fotona je proporcionalna njegovoj frekvenciji, odnosno obrnuto proporcionalna valnoj duljini. Stoga, da bismo radili eksperimente vezane za fotoelektrični efekt, potrebni su nam izvori monokromatske svjetlosti. Mogu se koristiti filteri koji će propuštati samo određenu valnu duljinu svjetlosti, ili LED izvori svjetlosti, koji su korišteni za mjerenja u ovom radu. Pomoću njih i vakumske fotočelije, eksperimentalno je dobivena vrijednost Planckove konstante, a pomoću vakumske fotoćelije dobivene su ovisnosti napona i intenziteta o udaljenosti izvora, te ovisnost napona o intenzitetu.
Abstract (english)
Photoelectric effect is the emission of electrons from a material by the action of electromagnetic field. The energy quantifiers are photons. When the metal plate is illuminated with light, the photons collide with the electrons and surrender their energy. The electrons then increase energy and if the photon energy is large enough, the electron will leave the surface of the metal. The energy of the photon is proportional to its frequency, i.e., inversely proportional to the wavelength. Therefore, in order to do experiments related to photoelectric effect, we need monochromatic light sources. We could use filters that will pass only a certain wavelength, or LED light sources, which were used for measurements in this work. Using those light sources and the vacuum photocell, the value of the Planck constant was experimentally obtained. Also, with the vacuum photocell, voltage dependence and intensity on source distance were obtained, as well as voltage dependence on intensity.
