Abstract
U modernom dobu, ionizirajuće zračenje se svakodnevno koristi u različitim područjima ljudskih aktivnosti. Jedna od najvažnijih primjena ionizirajućeg zračenja je u medicini - grani ljudske djelatnosti kojoj je primarni cilj zdravlje čovjeka. Klinička metoda koja koristi zračenje za liječenje različitih bolesti (obično raka) naziva se radioterapija. Svakom procesu liječenja radioterapijom prethodi pomno planiranje. Standardni radioterapijski uređaj za planiranje radioterapije je CT simulator, dok je jedan od najčešćih uređaja za provođenje radioterapije linearni akcelerator. Nepravilna uporaba zračenja može uzrokovati brojne negativne efekte na ljudski organizam zbog čega se razvila potreba za zaštitu od istog. Da bi se zračenje moglo sigurno koristiti, potrebno je pažljivo upravljati sa izvorima zračenja, koristiti zaštitnu opremu i projektirati dovoljno dobre zaštitne barijere. Ovaj rad se bavi projektiranjem zaštitnih barijera kod medicinskih ustanova koje koriste radioterapiju za liječenje bolesti, konkretno za ustanove koje sadrže CT simulator i linearni akcelerator.
Abstract (english)
In modern times, ionizing radiation is used on a daily basis in various fields of human activity. One of the most important examples of usage can be found in medicine - a branch of human activity whose prime aim is human health. A clinical method that uses radiation for treatment of various diseases (usually cancer treatment) is called radiotherapy. Every process of radiotherapy treatment is preceded by careful planning. CT simulator is a standard radiotherapy device which is used for radiotherapy planning, whereas one of the most common devices conducting radiotherapy is linear accelerator. Irregular use of radiation can have multiple negative effects on human organism, which is the reason why there is a need for protection against it. In order to use radiation in a safe way, it is necessary to carefully monitor radiation sources, use protective equipment and design sufficiently good shielding barriers. This work deals with designing shielding barriers for medical facilities that use radiotherapy for treating diseases, more precisely, for facilities that have CT simulator and linear accelerator.
