Abstract
Vrsta Dittrichia viscosa (L.) Greuter (Asteraceae) aromatična je biljna vrsta od davnina poznata u narodnoj medicini. Iz biljnog materijala je izolirano eterično ulje i hidrolat te je provedena analiza njihovog kemijskog sastava primjenom metoda plinske kromatografije (GC i GC/MS) i tekućinske kromatografije (HPLC). Glavni sastojci eteričnog ulja su 1,8-cineol (16,4%), kariofilen oksid (15,1%), ciperotundon (14,8%) i α-terpenil acetat (13,9%). Najzastupljeniji sastojak hidrolata je 3,4-dihidroksibenzojeva kiselina (62,2 mg/mL). Protuvirusno djelovanje hidrolata je ispitano in vivo na biljkama koje su lokalni domaćini virusa mozaika duhana. Tretman biljaka hidrolatom prije inokulacije virusa inhibira broj lokalnih virusnih lezija za razliku od simultane inokulacije hidrolata i virusa. Rezultati ukazuju da tretman hidrolatom jača otpornost biljke prema virusnoj infekciji te da vrsta D. viscosa ima potencijal u razvoju prirodnih preparata za kontrolu virusnih infekcija biljaka.
Abstract (english)
Dittrichia viscosa (L.) Greuter (Asteraceae) is an aromatic plant species well known in folk medicine. Essential oil and hydrolate were isolated from plant material and their chemical composition was analyzed by gas chromatography (GC and GC/MS) and liquid chromatography (HPLC). The main components of the essential oil are 1,8-cineol (16.4%), caryophyllene oxide (15.1%), ciperotundone (14.8%) and α-terpenyl acetate (13.9%). The hydrolate was characterized by a high concentration of 3,4-dihydroxybenzoic acid (62.2 mg/ mL). Antiviral activity of the hydrolate was tested in vivo on plants that are local hosts for tobacco mosaic virus. Treatment of plants with hydrolate prior to virus inoculation reduced the number of local lesions as opposed to simultaneous inoculation of virus and hydrolate. The results suggest that treatment by hydrolate increases plant resistance to viral infections and that investigated species D. viscosa has the potential for the development of natural preparations for the control of viral infections of plants.
