Abstract
U ovom diplomskom radu proučavamo osnove poravnanja bioloških nizova znakova, odnosno parova DNA ili parova proteina. Cilj je prezentirati osnove za donošenje odluka o sličnosti ili homolognosti parova. Poravnanje dva biološka niza predstavlja jedan od najstarijih i najviše istraživanih problema u bioinformatici.

In this master’s thesis we present the basic theory of sequence alignment from computational, biological, and statistical perspectives.
