Abstract
Rajčica je jednogodišnja zeljasta biljka koja pripada razredu dvosupnica. Ubrzo nakon što se počela koristiti u prehrambene svrhe, postala je jedna od češće uzgajanih povrtnih kultura. Potječe iz Južne Amerike, no danas se uzgaja na skoro svim kontinentima. Zbog svojih specifičnih organoleptičkih svojstava i nutritivne vrijednosti rajčica je sastavna namirnica većine svjetskih kuhinja. Konzumira se svježa ili u obliku brojnih prerađevina. Ističe se pozitivnim djelovanjem na metaboličke i fiziološke funkcije u organizmu, ponajviše antioksidativnim djelovanjem crvenog pigmenta likopena. Rajčica je termofilna biljna kultura, stoga za rast i razvitak traži osunčana područja i dostatan izvor vode. Može se uzgajati na otvorenom ili u zatvorenim prostorima. Cilj ovog rada je ukazati na morfološke osobitosti rajčice, njene prehrambene vrijednosti, ljekovitost, različite načine uzgoja te vrste proizvoda.
Abstract (english)
Tomato is a one-year-old herbaceous plant belonging to class Dicotyledonae. Soon after being used for nutritional purposes, it became one of the most frequently cultivated crops. It originates in South America, but today it is grown on almost all continents. Because of its specific organoleptic properties and nutritional value, tomato is the ingredient in most of the world's cuisine. It is consumed fresh or in the form of a number of tomato products. It has a positive effects on the metabolic and physiological functions of the body, mainly by the antioxidant action of the red lycopene pigment. Tomato is a thermophilic plant culture, so for its growth and development it requires sunny areas and a sufficient source of water. It can be grown outdoors or in indoor areas. The aim of this paper is to point out morphological characteristics of tomatoes, their nutritional value, the healing properties, various ways of growing and different type of product.
