Abstract
Masno tkivo je aktualna tema i predmet istraživanja mnogih znanstvenika. Masno tkivo dijelimo na bijelo, smeđe i u novije vrijeme bež masno tkivo. Svako masno tkivo se razlikuje po strukturi i funkciji. Bijelo masno tkivo ima metaboličke i endokrine funkcije. Smeđe masno tkivo ima ulogu u održavanju tjelesne temperature termogenezom, a bež adipociti predstavljaju poseban tip termogenih stanica. Novija istraživanja su pokazala da bijeli i smeđi adipociti imaju različito podrijetlo. Nastanak bež adipocita nije u potpunosti razjašnjen stoga postoji nekoliko modela njihovog nastanka. Pretilost je bolest modernog svijeta nastala zbog pretjeranog unosa energije i nedovoljnog trošenja energije. Karakterizira je povećana masa bijelog masnog tkiva. Bijeli adipociti mogu se pretvoriti u smeđe u procesu zvanom tamnjenje bijelog masnog tkiva. Zbog potencijalnog terapijskog učinka smeđih i beži adipocita u liječenju dijabetesa i pretilosti raste važeća uloga tamnjenje bijelog masnog tkiva.
Abstract (english)
Adipose tissue is a current topic and subject of research in many scientists. Adipose tissue is divided into white, and lately beige adipose tissue. Each adipose tissue differs in structure and function. White adipose tissue has metabolic and endocrine functions. Brown adipose tissue plays a role in maintaining body temperature through thermogenesis. Recent research has shown that white and brown adipocytes have different origins. The origin of beige adipocytes is not fully understood, so there are several models that explain their origin. Obesity is a disease of the modern world caused by excessive energy intake and insufficient energy expenditure. It is characterized by an increased mass of white adipose tissue. White adipocytes can turn brown in a process called white adipose tissue browning. Due to the potential therapeutic effect of brown and beige adipocytes in the treatment of diabetes and obesity, the importantance of white adipose tissue browning is growing.
