Abstract
U ovom radu kreiramo računalnu simulaciju koja promatra gibanje planeta i asteroida oko Sunca. Za problem koji ne možemo analitički riješiti stvaramo matematičku/fizikalnu reprezentaciju kako bismo predvidili ponašanja nekog sustava. Problem kojim se rad bavi je računanje vjerojatnosti udara asteroida o Zemlju. Promatramo asteroide nasumično odabranih masa, brzina i početnih položaja i pratimo njihovo gibanje kroz Sunčev sustav. Ovaj kompleksan problem aproksimirali smo jednostavnim fizikalnim modelom. Iz simulacije računamo da oko 20% generiranih asteroida prođe putanju radijusa 1.2 AU, i time predstavljaju potencijalnu opasnost Zemlji.
Abstract (english)
In this paper, we create a computer simulation that observes the motion of planets and asteroids around the Sun. For a problem that we cannot solve analytically, we create a mathematical/physical representation in order to predict the behavior of a system. The problem that the paper deals with is the calculation of the probability of an asteroid hitting the Earth. We observe asteroids of randomly selected masses, velocities and initial positions and track their motion through the solar system. We approximated this complex problem with a simple physical model. From the simulation, we calculate that about 20% of the generated asteroids pass a path of radius 1.2 AU, and thus represent a potential danger to the Earth.
