Abstract
Skriveni Markovljev model je vjerojatnosni model u kojem se sustav koji se modelira smatra Markovljevim procesom sa skrivenim ili neopaženim stanjima. Ta skrivena stanja emitiraju simbole koje možemo promatrati te nam je cilj proučavajući te emitirane simbole i anlizirajući vezu između skrivenih stanja i emitiranih simbola predviđati ponašanja našeg modela u neposrednoj budućnosti. Stoga u uvodnom dijelu ovog rada navodimo osnovne definicije iz područja vjerojatnosti te definiciju i svojstva Markovljevih lanaca. Pomoću toga možemo definirati skrivene Markovljeve modele. Definiramo i osnovne probleme vezane uz ovaj model kao što su problemi dekodiranja, procjene i učenja parametara te za svaki od njih opisujemo algoritamsko rješenje. U konačnici, opisujemo primjene skrivenih Markovljevih modela na području bioinformatike vezane uz poravnanje sekvenci te uvodimo pojam profilnog skrivenog Markovljevog modela.
Abstract (english)
A hidden Markov model is a probabilistic model in which the system being modeled is considered a Markov process with hidden or unobserved states. These hidden states emit symbols that we can observe, and by studying these emitted symbols and analyzing the connection between hidden states and emitted symbols, our goal is to predict the behavior of our model in the immediate future. Therefore, in the introductory part of this thesis, we state basic definitions from the probability theory and the definition and properties of Markov chains. With this we can define hidden Markov models. We also define the basic problems related to this model, such as the problems of decoding, estimation of parameters, and we describe the algorithmic solution for each of them. Finally, we describe applications of hidden Markov models in the field of bioinformatics related to sequence alignment and introduce the concept of a profile hidden Markov model.
