Abstract
Post je dobrovoljno izbjegavanje hrane radi zdravstvenih, duhovnih, etičkih i drugih razloga. Isprekidan post ''Intermittent fasting'' metoda je prehrane koja je stekla veliku popularnost zadnjih godina. Riječ je o režimu prehrane gdje se ne mijenja ono što jedemo, već se mijenja period apstinencije od konzumiranja kalorija. Produljenjem vremenskog perioda posta u organizmu se odvija niz metaboličkih procesa poput glikogenolize, glukoneogeneze, lipolize i ketogeneze. Zahvaljujući ovim procesima osiguran je alternativan izvor metaboličke energije u vidu ketonskih goriva. Procesi su regulirani hormonima poput inzulina, glukagona i glukokortikoidnim hormonima. Tijekom posta u staničnoj signalizaciji sudjeluju brojni transkripcijski faktori i nuklearni receptori poput PPAR-alfe i CREBH-a. U stanju posta dvojaki transkripcijski aktivatori PPAR-alfa i CREBH intrigiraju lučenje hormona FGF21. FGF21 esencijalan je za održavanje energetske bilance. Post inaktivira mTOR što za posljedicu ima aktiviranje procesa autofagije.
Abstract (english)
Fasting implies a voluntary avoidance of food for health, spiritual, ethical, and other reasons. Intermittent fasting is a nutritional method which has acquired great popularity in recent years. This method does not require a change in one's diet, but the change in the period of abstinence from calorie consumption. Prolonged period of the abstinence leads to a series of metabolic processes in the human organism such as; glycogenolysis, gluconeogenesis, lipolysis, and ketogenesis. Due to these processes, an alternative source of metabolic energy in form of ketonic fuel is utilized. The processes are regulated by hormones such as insulin, glucagon, and glucocorticoid hormones. During fasting, numerous transcriptional factors and nuclear receptors, PPAR-alfa and CREBH for instance, are directly involved in the cellular signalization. In the state of fasting, dual transcription factors PPAR-alfa and CREBH encourage secretion of the FGF21 hormone. FGF21 hormone is essential for sustaining energy balance. Fasting inactivates mTOR which in turn activates the process of autophagy.
