Abstract
Liposomi i njihova primjena u terapijskim sustavima od iznimnog su interesa u području znanosti i medicine. Razvojem nanotehnologije uspješnost liposomskih formulacija je sve veća. Za učinkovitu primjenu liposoma u terapijskim sustavima odgovorna je građa liposoma koju čine fosfolipidi, ujedno i glavne komponente bioloških membrana. Postojanje amfipatske strukture omogućuje uklapanje i hidrofilnih i hidrofobnih lijekova što liposomima daje prednost među različitim nosačima lijekova. Svojstva liposoma razlikuju se u građi dvosloja, veličini i načinu pripreme. Ovisno o željenoj primjeni, liposomalne čestice se mogu prirediti različitim metodama u širokom spektru veličina. Jedna od najčešćih metoda pripreme liposoma je metoda hidratacije suhog fosfolipidnog sloja. Sličnost s biološkim membranama, brza i jednostavna priprema samo su neke od prednosti koje liposomima omogućuju široku primjenu u terapijskim područjima kao što su onkologija, imunoterapija, infektivna oboljenja, genska terapija, cijepljenje itd.
Abstract (english)
Liposomes and their application in therapeutic systems are of great interest in the field of science and medicine. With the development of nanotechnology, the success of liposome formulations is increasing. The structure of liposomes, which consists of phospholipids, also the main components of biological membranes, is responsible for the effective use of liposomes in therapeutic systems. The existence of an amphipathic structure allows the incorporation of both hydrophilic and hydrophobic drugs which gives liposomes an advantage among different drug carriers. The properties of liposomes differ in the structure of the bilayer, size and method of preparation. Depending on the desired application, liposomal particles can be prepared by various methods in a wide range of sizes. One of the most common method of liposome preparation is the dry phospholipid layer hydration method. Similarity with biological membranes, quick and easy preparation are just some of the advantages that allow liposomes to be widely used in therapeutic areas such as oncology, immunotherapy, infectious diseases, gene therapy, vaccination, etc.
