Abstract
Pri upadu svjetlosti na tanki film, npr. tanak sloj ulja na vodi, dio svjetlosti se odbija na gornjoj površini filma, a dio na donjoj, te zrake interferiraju. Kada bijela svjetlost, koja se sastoji od boja, upada na tanki film, zbog interferencije dolazi do pojačavanja ili prigušivanja nekih boja, ovisno o debljini filma i kutu upada, pa vidimo razne boje. Za boje koje se priguše kažemo da dolazi do destruktivne interferencije, a za boje koje se pojačaju do konstruktivne interferencije. Obojenja nastala interferencijom na tankim filmovima su česta u prirodi, npr. krila nekih kukaca se ponašaju kao tanki film, boje nastale na krilima su rezultat interferencije. Također, tu pojavu možemo primijetiti na nekim cvjetovima ili na perju paunova.
Abstract (english)
As light strikes the surface of a thin film, e.g. thin layer of oil on the water, part of it reflects on the top surface and part on the bottom surface, those rayes interfere. When white light, which consists of colors, is incident on the film, because of interference, certain colors are enhanced while others fade, it depends on tickness of the film layer and the angle of incidence of the original wave on the film. As a result we see color pattern. Colors that fade interfere destructively, enhanced colors interfere constructevly. Coloration due to thin-film interference is common in nature, e.g. wings of many insects act like thin films, colors seen on wings of those insects are the result of interference. We can also observe thin-film interference on some flowers or peacock feathers.
