Abstract
Cilj ovog rada je upoznati se s principima fenomena fotoelektričnog efekta te s problemima s kojima su se susreli fizičari toga doba. Ne poznajući čestičnu prirodu svjetlosti, klasična teorija valova je podbacila objasniti neke fenomene, kao što je ovisnost kinetičke energije elektrona izbačenih iz obasjanog metala o frekvenciji upadne svjetlosti. Razmatra se objašnjenje koje je dao A. Einstein, koji je rekao da se svjetlost sastoji od čestica – fotona, svaki energije hf, gdje je f frekvencija svjetlosti. Naposljetku, upoznajemo na koji način se fotoelektrični efekt primjenjuje u svakodnevnoj tehnologiji, preko principa rada fotomultiplikatora.
Abstract (english)
The goal of this thesis is to get known with principles of photoelectric effect and with problems which physicists from that period encountered. Not knowing corupuscular theory of light, classical theory of waves failed to explain some of the phenomens, such as dependence of kinetic energy of electrons emitted from metal, of frequency of incident light. Einstein's explanation is considered. He said that light consists of particles – photons, each energy of hf with f being frequency of light. Finally, we consider the application of photoelectric effect in everyday technology such as photomultiplicators.
