Augmented reality (AR) in education enables interactive learning that can significantly improve understanding of complex concepts. This paper provides an overview of research on AR in teaching, with a special emphasis on its application in teaching geography, especially in teaching the Earth's rotation and revolution. An AR application was developed through the CoSpaces Edu platform, which allows students to visualize the movement of the Earth in space and thus better understand astronomical phenomena. The research was conducted on a sample of high school students, divided into two groups: the experimental group, which used AR, and the control group, which learned through the demonstration method. The results showed that AR increases student engagement and helps in understanding concepts, but the classic demonstration method showed better effectiveness in some cases. The majority of students expressed their satisfaction with the use of AR in class, although the results of the knowledge test favored the traditional approach. The paper suggests the potential of AR technology in education, with a recommendation for further research to better understand its full value.
