Abstract
Slatka naranča, Citrus sinensis (L.) Osbeck, vazdazelena je voćka iz porodice rutvica (Rutaceae). Porijeklo vuče iz Azije, a danas se uzgaja na gotovo svim kontinentima u područjima tropske, suptropske i mediteranske klime. Jedna je od vrsta roda Citrus, koja ima najveći broj sorti i najbrojniju globalnu proizvodnju. Genom slatke naranče podložan je mutacijama, a to svojstvo ljudi koriste kako bi stvorili mnoge kultivare s različitim karakteristikama. Neke sorte mogu se razmnožavati generativno, ali komercijalno dostupne sorte razmnožavaju se vegetativno, najčešće tehnikom cijepljenja. Slatku naranču karakteriziraju ovalni sočni plodovi koji predstavljaju namirnicu s bogatom nutritivnom vrijednošću. Konzumira se svježa ili u obliku raznih prerađevina, a od nje se može dobiti i eterično ulje.
Abstract (english)
Sweet orange, Citrus sinensis (L.) Osbeck, is an evergreen fruit from the Rutaceae family. It originates from Asia, and today it is grown on almost all continents in areas with tropical, subtropical and Mediterranean climates. It is one of the species of the genus Citrus, which has the largest number of cultivars and the largest global production. The sweet orange genome is susceptible to mutations, and people use this property to create many cultivars with different characteristics. Some varieties can be propagated generatively, but commercially available varieties are propagated vegetatively, usually by grafting. Sweet orange is characterized by oval juicy fruits that represent a food with rich nutritional value. It is consumed fresh or in the form of various products, essential oil can also be obtained from it.
